Thirty-five years is a long time to wait for the kitchen you always imagined. For one Bethesda family, the moment finally arrived when their kitchen was not just out of style — it was falling apart. What followed was a kitchen remodel that was not just about aesthetics, but about honoring a family legacy: the cream-colored cabinets and hardwood floors that had been a dream for decades finally became a reality, with Bull Run Kitchen & Bath making every detail happen.

The Bethesda kitchen remodel needed to accomplish several things at once. It had to replace aging, deteriorating finishes throughout the kitchen. It had to reconfigure the space — including moving the refrigerator to a more practical location, adjusting the window placement to allow for additional cabinetry, and finding room for an island despite the constraints of the floor plan. And perhaps most meaningfully, it needed to deliver the kitchen vision that the family had been carrying for years. The homeowners chose Bull Run Kitchen & Bath for a straightforward reason: the team was genuinely willing to work toward exactly the result the family envisioned, rather than steering them toward whatever was easiest or most convenient.
Design & Materials:
Designer Matt became the creative partner who made this Bethesda kitchen remodel possible. His approach was collaborative and flexible: when the homeowners wanted to move the refrigerator, Matt made it happen. When they wanted smaller windows to create more cabinet space along the wall, he found the solution. When they asked for a mobile island — an unconventional request — Bull Run said yes and delivered. The cream-colored cabinets are the heart of this kitchen. A color the family had always imagined in the space, they bring warmth, softness, and a timeless elegance that cream consistently delivers in kitchens of any size. The cabinetry was designed and selected in coordination with tile choices, paint colors, and trim details to create a kitchen that felt cohesive from every angle. The flooring is equally meaningful. Hardwood planks that had been sitting in boxes for over 15 years — selected by the family's mother, never installed — finally found their home. Bull Run Kitchen & Bath worked with the existing stock to install the hardwood not just in the kitchen but throughout the entire first floor of the house, creating a unified, flowing look that transformed every room on the main level. New trim work around windows and doors, appliance placement refined to match the family's habits, and fresh paint throughout completed the transformation.
The Transformation Process:
Bull Run's approach throughout the Bethesda kitchen remodel was defined by responsiveness and respect. Matt ensured that every decision reflected what the homeowners wanted — not what was easiest or most conventional. The crew installed the flooring, handled trim and painting, relocated appliances, and configured the kitchen around the family's specific requests. When touch-ups or adjustments were needed after installation, Bull Run handled them promptly and without pushback. That level of accountability made the experience feel genuinely collaborative — a partnership, not a transaction.

Testimonial:
“The hardwood floor that eventually ended up in our kitchen — we'd had it in boxes for over 15 years. My mom had picked it out but we'd never gotten a chance to install it. Luckily Bull Run was willing to work with us to get that installed not just in the kitchen but throughout the entire first floor.”
