Our Whole-Home Remodel Project in Woodbridge, VA
Bathroom Remodeling
- LOCATION
- Northern Virginia
- YEAR
- 2017
- TIMELINE
- 6–8 weeks
When Joy and Corey Hay moved to Woodbridge, Virginia from Maryland, they almost walked away from the house they ended up buying. The kitchen was awful — their word — and the bathrooms were just as bad. But they loved the area, the school systems, the neighborhood's proximity to the water, and the pool the kids had been dreaming about. Corey convinced Joy that the budget was there to make it work, and they moved forward with the purchase knowing that a full house remodel was coming. Even before they officially moved in, Joy was already reaching out to Bull Run Kitchen & Bath. What followed was a kitchen and bathroom renovation that transformed an outdated Woodbridge property into a home the Hay family is genuinely proud of.

This Woodbridge full house remodeling project focused on the spaces that needed the most immediate attention: the kitchen and the bathrooms. Joy contacted Bull Run Kitchen & Bath about two weeks before the family moved in, knowing that with post-COVID demand running high, getting on the schedule early was essential. Designer Hakan and colleague Assan came out for the initial consultation, and the Hays describe that first meeting as the moment they knew they had found the right team.
the Bull Run Kitchen & Bath team arrived with ideas already forming — suggestions for layout improvements, configuration changes, and design directions that aligned with what the Hays were envisioning and added possibilities they had not even considered. That proactive, idea-first approach set the tone for the entire Woodbridge remodeling project.

Design & Materials:
The crew's work habits were also notable. They arrived on time, communicated any schedule changes with a phone call, laid protective tarps over furniture and flooring before beginning each day, cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each session, and always wore masks in line with COVID-safety guidelines. The entire construction experience was marked by respectfulness and professionalism.

The Transformation Process:
When schedule changes did arise, the crew communicated proactively: "If something happened, it was always a phone call — 'Hey, you know, if they couldn't make it a certain day' — very courteous." That level of communication made the entire remodeling experience feel manageable, even enjoyable, for a family navigating a new home and a major renovation simultaneously.

Why Bull Run:

Testimonial:
“I would definitely recommend Bull Run to my family and friends — actually, we already have. We've been showing photos and videos of the kitchen and the bathroom, and people are already asking who did the work. So we're already sending them the website and phone numbers. And we will be using them again for sure.”
