BATHROOM Project — 01
A Reconfigured Master Bathroom in Manassas, VA
Bathroom Remodeling
- LOCATION
- Manassas, VA
- TIMELINE
- 2–3 weeks
Karen and Jeff of Manassas, Virginia had been living with a master bathroom that was both functionally limited and physically unsafe. An enclosed toilet compartment made the room feel smaller than it was, an aging bathtub was dangerous to step in and out of, and the original builder-grade shower was overdue for replacement. When they decided to do something about it, they chose Bull Run Kitchen & Bath — and the transformation delivered everything they had hoped for and more.

This Manassas bathroom remodeling project was centered on making a meaningful improvement to daily life. The existing layout had a toilet enclosed in its own walled compartment, which consumed square footage and made the bathroom feel cramped even though the room itself was reasonably sized. The bathtub posed a safety concern for entry and exit. And the shower — a rickety, narrow builder-grade enclosure from the early 2000s — was both aesthetically dated and practically inadequate. Karen and Jeff's approach was methodical. They pulled out graph paper, sketched different configurations, and thought carefully about how they could reorganize the space to maximize both safety and efficiency before reaching out to renovation companies. When they visited the Bull Run Kitchen & Bath showroom and observed how the team interacted with another customer — forthcoming with information and genuinely helpful — they chose Bull Run Kitchen & Bath — and it proved to be the right decision.
Design & Materials:
- Wall Removal: The walls enclosing the toilet were taken down, reclaiming the floor area and allowing the room to breathe as a single unified space rather than a series of cramped compartments
- Enlarged Shower: The old builder-grade shower with its rickety frame was replaced with a proper, larger shower enclosure — more functional, more attractive, and built to last
- Improved Safety: With the bathtub removed and the floor plan reorganized, the bathroom became significantly easier and safer to navigate
- Updated Fixtures: New fixtures throughout brought the bathroom into the modern era, matching the cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic the couple envisioned
- Detail-Oriented Execution: The construction crew was noted specifically for their precision — showing up on time, working late when needed, cleaning up daily, and paying close attention to getting every detail exactly right

Testimonial:
“There was a lot of things that we would just text or follow up with an email to Matt, and he would respond back and take care of the things that we were looking for. There was a lot of interaction with the crew as well — they listened to what we said we needed.”
