Inside an Espresso Double Vanity Bathroom in Centreville
Bathroom Remodeling

When Michele Khanna's family decided it was time to update their grandparents' bathroom in Centreville, Virginia, the project required more than just an aesthetic upgrade. The 1990s-era bathroom needed to be modernized in style while being transformed into a safe, accessible space for older adults. Bull Run Kitchen & Bath delivered on both goals — creating an espresso double vanity bathroom that is as beautiful as it is functional, and perfectly suited to the needs of the people who use it every day.

This Centreville bathroom remodeling project was driven by two equally important goals: updating a bathroom that had been largely untouched since the house was built in the 1990s, and making the space genuinely accessible for grandparents who needed a safer environment. When Michele connected with Bull Run Kitchen & Bath, the team stood out from the very first conversation. Hakan, Bull Run Kitchen & Bath's lead designer, came to the home, took careful measurements, provided an estimate, and then invited the family to visit the showroom to explore design options in person. Michele brought a Pinterest image that captured the general direction she wanted — a fresh, updated look that stayed consistent with the rest of the home's decor. Hakan ran with that reference, presenting multiple options and ultimately helping the family land on a design that checked every box. The price was competitive, the design was spot-on, and the team assembled to execute the project proved exceptional.

Design & Materials:
- Espresso Double Vanity: Deep espresso-toned cabinetry with double sinks, providing generous storage and a luxurious visual presence
- Curbless Shower: The original bathtub — which posed a significant trip hazard for the homeowners' grandparents — was removed entirely and replaced with a curbless, walk-in shower. The zero-threshold design means easy, safe entry and exit with no step to navigate
- Grab Bars: Strategically installed grab bars inside the shower area provide additional support and security, an essential feature for an accessible bathroom design
- Fresh Aesthetic: The overall design honors the request for a fresh, updated feel that aligns with the home's existing decor without feeling jarring or out of place
- Quality Tile Work: Edwin and his partner executed meticulous tile work throughout the project, from the demolition phase through laying the final floor and wall tiles
The dual focus on beauty and accessibility is what makes this Centreville bathroom remodeling project particularly noteworthy. Bull Run Kitchen & Bath treated both priorities with equal care, never allowing the functional requirements to compromise the aesthetic result.

Why Bull Run:

Testimonial:
“Another goal for this space was to make it all really accessible as this is my grandparents' bathroom. The first thing was that there used to be an old tub here and that was kind of a big trip hazard — so instead we had them do a curbless shower. It's easy — walk in, walk out. There's no trip hazard or anything. And we also had them install some grab bars for just extra support.”
