When Tracy Young of Ashburn Village, Virginia looked at her 35-year-old master bathroom and saw a space that was dark, dated, and desperately short on storage for a family of six, she knew it was time for a change. Working with Bull Run Kitchen & Bath, Tracy and her husband spent six months designing and selecting materials before the crew arrived — and the result is a bright, modern master bathroom remodel that exceeded every expectation.

This Ashburn bathroom remodeling project was a complete master bathroom renovation from top to bottom. The home was built in 1988, and the original bathroom had gone untouched since then. For a busy family with four children of varying ages, the old layout simply was not working. Storage was inadequate, the color palette felt heavy and outdated, and the overall space needed to be modernized in a way that was both functional and beautiful. Tracy and her husband chose Bull Run Kitchen & Bath based on a direct recommendation from their next-door neighbor, who had already worked with the company. That trust proved well-placed. From the design phase through final completion, Bull Run Kitchen & Bath delivered an Ashburn bathroom remodel that Tracy describes as brighter, bigger, and more storage-rich than she ever imagined possible.

Design & Materials:
- Color Palette: Black, white, and gray tones throughout, creating a clean, timeless look that will not feel dated in another decade
- Double Vanity: A white double vanity providing generous counter space for both partners, with significantly more storage than the previous single-sink setup
- Jacuzzi Tub: A smaller, more thoughtfully proportioned jacuzzi tub with waterfall effects — a deliberate upgrade from the oversized original tub that consumed nearly half the bathroom floor
- Recessed Shower Niches: Custom-designed recessed storage boxes for shower products, coordinating with a matching niche installed in another part of the bathroom — a design element developed collaboratively between Tracy and the Bull Run Kitchen & Bath team
- Storage: Dramatically expanded cabinet storage throughout, allowing Tracy to replace the linen closet she gave up in the renovation without losing a single item
- Lighting: Improved ambient lighting that makes the entire space feel larger and more welcoming
The attention to customization was evident throughout. Tracy noted that some design elements — like the placement and pairing of the recessed niches — were developed through active collaboration with the team, resulting in a solution that was both practical for the crew and exactly what she envisioned.

The Transformation Process:

Why Bull Run:

Testimonial:
“My favorite part is definitely the amount of storage in here. I have more than what I need now and I actually lost a linen closet, so I had to make up for that — but I've been able to store everything and still have open space. I love the jacuzzi tub, and I really like the recessed boxes for all of our shower gels and shampoos.”
