Are you looking for ideas to remodel your bathroom on a budget, perhaps because you live in a rented apartment or house and don’t want to spend too much out of your own pocket for the remodeling? Or perhaps you have just spent all your money on buying a house or renovating it and now don’t have much left over for the bathroom? This won’t be surprising because most people leave bathroom renovations or remodels as an afterthought. They leave the bathroom to be done after all the other rooms in the house are done. So you are left with very little money to do up the bathroom and yet you want it to look absolutely fantastic! Don’t lose heart! There is hope yet, as there are lots of different ways in which you can spruce up a bathroom without paying through your nose. Here are some to start with:

  • Tiles can be given a fresh lease of life by re-grouting. This is a low-budget step towards a brighter and cleaner looking bathroom and also one of the first things you should do if you are on a budget. This is also something you can do yourself with tutorials easily available on the Internet. There are even several home remedies available for cleaning out grout and for re-grouting.
  • One of the major pieces of furniture in a bathroom is the vanity. It may be expensive (and even unnecessary) to splurge on a new one when you can easily breathe a fresh lease of life into your old one by tiling it, decoupaging it, painting it, or just giving it a fresh coat of polish. The same can be done for your wood cabinetry.
  • Changing the tiles in your bathroom can make it look like an entirely new one. You can get either ceramic tiles or vinyl tiles that are durable, easy to clean, attractive, and cost effective. You may even be able to find tiles on clearance sales, so shop around!
  • Accessories are one of the fastest ways to rejuvenate the bathroom. From a fancy, antique mirror to new shower curtains, different window treatments to flowers in an attractive vase, or even quirky artwork on the walls, there are no limits to the creative accessories you can use in a bathroom. By using accents in a bathroom in the accessories, you will be adding a bright pop of color too.
  • Paint or wallpaper your bathroom walls for an instant makeover. If the walls are already wallpapered, you steam them off the walls and apply fresh and more attractive wallpaper. If you are putting on a fresh coat of paint, choose shades that are radically different from the ones you had before. It would also be great to have contrasting shades from the shade that you have on the flooring. If you buy paints at time when there are discounts or sales, you could save a lot.
